Pressure adjustment of a standard type regulator is accomplished by turning the cap clockwise to adjust the pressure upward; This works quite well when you adjust the pressure upwards. On the other hand, to reduce the pressure, you must turn the cap in the other direction until the desired pressure is reached and, again, to increase the pressure, turn in the other direction. This operation is long and leaves room for errors. Using a dial regulator eliminates this time-consuming process simply by adjusting the dial to the desired pressure.
